The job itself is substantive: you handle customer relationships, credit appraisals, branch operations, and eventually move into management. What is IBPS PO?
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts a common recruitment process (CRP) for Probationary Officers and Management Trainees across participating public sector banks. Once selected, you join your allocated bank as a PO and undergo a training period before being confirmed.
IBPS PO is different from SBI PO — SBI conducts its own separate exam. IBPS handles all other major PSBs.

Eligibility
Education: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Final-year students can apply with the condition that they produce the degree certificate at document verification. Age: 20–30 years as on the cut-off date mentioned in the notification. Age Relaxation:- OBC: +3 years (27+3 = up to 33)
- SC/ST: +5 years (up to 35)
- PwBD: +10 years
- Ex-servicemen: as per government rules
Exam Pattern
IBPS PO selection has three stages.
Stage 1 — Preliminary Examination
Online, 1 hour. Qualifying in nature.

Stage 3 — Interview
Conducted by the respective bank's board along with IBPS representatives. Carries 100 marks.
Final Merit = Mains (225) + Interview (100) = 325 marksMinimum qualifying marks in the interview: 40% for General (35% for reserved categories).
Salary and Perks
The pay scale for IBPS PO follows the IBA (Indian Banks' Association) wage revision structure. Post the 11th Bipartite Settlement:

How to Apply

- Fill in the CRP PO application form during the active window
- Upload photo and signature (specific size and format mentioned in the notification)
- Pay application fee: ₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD, ₹850 for others
- Select preferred exam city and preferred language for the exam
What the Job Actually Involves
Many candidates romanticize banking without knowing the actual work. As a PO, your initial postings might involve:
