Google Maps QR Code — Share Map Locations
Create a Google Maps QR code to share a location, directions, or business listing. Scanners open the spot in Google Maps.
A Google Maps QR code links directly to a location on Google Maps. Scanners get directions, see reviews, and find your business — all from one scan. Create one at QRMax.
What It Does
The QR encodes a Google Maps URL. When scanned, it opens Google Maps (or the browser) showing the location pin, business info, reviews, and one-tap directions.
Common Use Cases
| Use Case | Example |
|---|---|
| Business storefronts | Guide customers to your location |
| Wedding invitations | Direct guests to the venue |
| Delivery instructions | Pin the exact drop-off point |
| Tourism brochures | Link to attractions on the map |
| Business cards | "Find us" with one scan |
How to Create a Google Maps QR Code
- Choose "Google Maps" type — Open QRMax and select Google Maps.
- Enter your location — Search by name or paste a Google Maps URL. You can also enter coordinates.
- Customize & download — Brand with colors and logo, then export.
Practical Tips
- Use your Google Business listing URL — This shows your reviews, hours, and photos alongside the pin.
- Test on both platforms — Verify the link works on both iOS (may open in browser) and Android (opens in Google Maps app).
- Include the address as text too — Some users prefer typing the address into their own preferred maps app.
Will it open on iPhones?
If Google Maps is installed, it opens there. Otherwise, it opens in Safari showing the Google Maps website, which still provides full functionality.
Can I link to directions from the user's current location?
Yes. Use a Google Maps directions URL format, and it will automatically calculate the route from the scanner's current GPS position.
Is this better than a geo location QR?
A Google Maps QR shows richer info (reviews, photos, hours) but requires internet and depends on Google. A geo location QR works with any maps app using raw coordinates.
