Vijayawada Junction — station code BZA — is one of the busiest railway junctions in South India. Sitting at the confluence of the Howrah-Chennai mainline and the branch toward Hyderabad/Secunderabad, BZA handles a massive volume of train traffic. Nearly every train running along the east coast of India passes through here.
The station is in the heart of Vijayawada city, on the banks of the Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh. It's a major transit point, but also the gateway to the state's cultural and religious landmarks.

Check the electronic boards or use IndianRail.app for real-time updates. Tip 3: The station gets very hot in summer (April–June). Temperatures regularly exceed 42°C. Use the AC waiting room if you have a wait. Tip 4: If you're heading to Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh's new capital area), BZA is the nearest major station. Amaravati is about 30 km away — take a cab or APSRTC bus. Tip 5: The Kanaka Durga Temple on Indrakeeladri Hill is just 3 km from the station.
