The star kid debate in Bollywood is eternal and exhausting — nepotism versus opportunity, privilege versus talent, legacy versus merit. We're not here to relitigate that entire argument. What we are here to do is look at which celebrity children are likely to step in front of the camera next and what kind of buzz they're already generating.

Some of these kids have been groomed for stardom since birth. Others seem to be genuinely choosing their own path. A few might surprise everyone by not entering films at all. But the spotlight is on them regardless — that's the price of having famous parents.

1. Aarav Kumar — The Mystery

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna's son Aarav might be the most intriguing name on this list precisely because he seems completely uninterested in the spotlight. He's rarely photographed, doesn't have a public social media presence, and has been studying abroad.

But here's the thing — Akshay Kumar was also a nobody before he became Akshay Kumar. Nobody predicted his trajectory. Aarav has the build, the genetics, and the family name. Whether he chooses to use any of that in Bollywood remains entirely unclear.

Twinkle Khanna, who famously walked away from acting despite being a successful actress, has said publicly that she'd support whatever her kids choose — and that she wouldn't push them toward films. Given Twinkle's own complicated relationship with stardom, that feels genuine.

2. Suhana Khan — Already Proving Herself

Suhana Khan technically already debuted with The Archies on Netflix, so calling her a "might debut" is cheating slightly. But the real test — a full-fledged theatrical release in a lead role — is still ahead.

What's promising about Suhana is that she went about this the right way. She studied acting at NYU, did theatre work, and didn't just waltz into a Rs 200 crore franchise as her first project. The Archies had mixed reviews, but critics generally acknowledged that Suhana showed genuine screen presence.

Her next few projects will be the real test. The protective shield of a Netflix debut doesn't exist in theatrical releases where box office numbers are ruthlessly public. SRK's daughter will face scrutiny that would break most newcomers. Whether she thrives under that pressure will define her career.

3. Khushi Kapoor — The Quiet Contender

Boney Kapoor and late Sridevi's younger daughter also debuted alongside Suhana in The Archies. Like Suhana, Khushi showed promise but needs a stronger vehicle to truly demonstrate her range.

What works in Khushi's favor is her lineage of extraordinary acting talent. Sridevi was arguably the greatest actress Indian cinema has produced. Those genes might take a few films to fully manifest, but the potential is there.

Khushi has been making smart social media moves — building a fashion following, appearing at events with the right energy, and maintaining a public image that's aspirational without being unapproachable.

4. Agastya Nanda — The Bachchan Wild Card

Amitabh Bachchan's grandson (through Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda) is another Archies debutant who's yet to fully prove himself. Agastya carries possibly the heaviest legacy name in Indian cinema — Bachchan — and that comes with both enormous advantages and crushing expectations.

His reviews from The Archies were mixed, but first films rarely define careers. Abhishek Bachchan's debut was also underwhelming, and he went on to deliver genuinely strong performances in films like Guru, Yuva, and Dasvi.

Whether Agastya has his grandfather's intensity or his father's versatility — or something entirely his own — remains to be seen. But the industry will give him multiple chances to figure it out. That's the star kid advantage that exists whether we like it or not.

5. Ibrahim Ali Khan — The Safe Bet

Saif Ali Khan's son with Amrita Singh might be the most "obviously going to be a Bollywood star" person on this list. Ibrahim looks the part, has been spotted on film sets assisting Karan Johar, and has built a significant social media following without having appeared in a single film.

His Koffee with Karan appearance with Sara Ali Khan was essentially an unofficial audition tape for the industry, and by most accounts, he passed. He's charming, self-aware about his privilege, and seems to have a genuine interest in filmmaking beyond acting.

Rumours about his debut vehicle have been circulating for a while. Multiple production houses are reportedly interested, and it's likely a matter of when, not if.

6. Nysa Devgan — The Reluctant Star?

Ajay Devgn and Kajol's daughter Nysa is fascinating because she might genuinely not want to act. Despite constant paparazzi attention whenever she's in Mumbai, Nysa has shown minimal interest in the Bollywood trajectory that her family name would easily open.

She's been studying abroad, keeps a relatively low profile, and hasn't done the typical pre-launch social media positioning that most star kids engage in. Her parents have been supportive of her staying out of the limelight — Kajol has explicitly said Nysa will make her own choices.

If Nysa does choose acting, she'd bring massive curiosity value. Kajol's daughter has a built-in audience. But she'd also face the unique challenge of being compared to one of Bollywood's most beloved and talented actresses.

7. Shanaya Kapoor — The Comeback Candidate

Sanjay Kapoor's daughter had a high-profile launch announcement with Dharma Productions that faced complications. The project was delayed, reworked, and the debut that seemed imminent got pushed back significantly.

That setback, while frustrating, might actually work in Shanaya's favor. The delay forced a reset — a chance to do more acting workshops, more preparation, and potentially launch with a stronger project than the original plan.

The Kapoor family connection (she's cousins with Janhvi and Sonam) guarantees industry access. The question is whether she can leverage that access into a sustainable career.

8. Ahan Shetty — Building Momentum

Suniel Shetty's son debuted with Tadap, which had a decent opening but didn't become the blockbuster launch that some expected. The film showed that Ahan has the physical presence and action capabilities that made his father famous, but dramatic range needs more development.

Ahan has been training extensively — both in acting and physical fitness — and his subsequent projects suggest he's being positioned in the action-hero space. Smart move. Playing to your strengths, especially when those strengths are genetic, makes sense.

His sister Athiya's successful personal life and growing fashion profile also keep the Shetty family in the public conversation, which indirectly benefits Ahan's visibility.

9. Aryan Khan — The Director's Path?

Shah Rukh Khan's elder son might have taken the most interesting career direction of any star kid. Rather than stepping in front of the camera, Aryan has reportedly been developing content for Red Chillies Entertainment — working on a web series concept that he'd direct rather than star in.

After the highly publicized legal troubles in 2021 and the intense scrutiny that followed, Aryan has maintained an extremely low public profile. If he does emerge as a filmmaker rather than an actor, it would be a genuinely refreshing departure from the typical star kid playbook.

The DNA of a storyteller might well be there — SRK's understanding of narrative, audience, and entertainment is unmatched in Indian cinema. If even a fraction of that instinct transferred to Aryan, a behind-the-camera career could be very successful.

10. Navya Nanda — The Entrepreneur Star Kid

Amitabh Bachchan's other grandchild (through Shweta Bachchan) has gone a completely different route. Navya co-founded Aara Health, a healthcare platform, and has positioned herself as an entrepreneur rather than an actress.

Whether she eventually pivots to entertainment remains to be seen, but her current trajectory suggests she's more interested in building businesses than building filmographies. In a world where every star kid seems to follow the same launch pattern, Navya's path is genuinely different.

The Bigger Question

The star kid pipeline never stops. As current A-listers' children grow up, the next wave is already forming. Taimur Ali Khan — currently an adorable child who generates more paparazzi attention than most adult celebrities — is years away from any career decisions but already has a fame level that most struggling actors would kill for.

Raha Kapoor, Vamika Kohli, and the other celebrity toddlers of the 2020s will face the same questions in fifteen years. The debate about nepotism won't have been resolved by then. It won't ever be fully resolved.

What would genuinely help is if star kids who don't want to act feel empowered to say no. The industry's assumption that every celebrity child will eventually face the camera isn't just limiting — it's unfair. Some of the most interesting star kid stories might be the ones who build careers entirely outside entertainment.

For now, though, the launch machine keeps running. The next crop of debuts will generate the same arguments, the same think pieces, and the same box office tests. And we'll be watching every one of them.
