Military Time Converter — 24-Hour to 12-Hour Full Conversion Table
Convert military time (24-hour) to standard 12-hour time and back. Includes a complete hour-by-hour table, military time zones, and how to read times like 1830 or 0045.
Military time is just the 24-hour clock — no AM/PM, no ambiguity. Instead of starting over at 1 after noon, the hours continue from 13 through 23. Midnight is 0000 or 2400, and each minute is written as a four-digit number.
Use CalcHub's military time converter to convert any time instantly, or read the full table below.
How It Works
- Midnight to noon: Same digits, just zero-padded. 7:30 AM = 0730.
- After noon: Add 12 to the hour. 3:00 PM = 1500. 6:45 PM = 1845.
- Midnight: Written as 0000 (start of day) or 2400 (end of day).

Converting With Minutes
For any time with minutes, the formula is simple:
12-hour to 24-hour:- AM times: just zero-pad the hour. 9:45 AM = 0945.
- PM times: add 12 to the hour. 9:45 PM → 9+12=21 → 2145.
- Exception: 12:XX PM stays as 12:XX. 12:30 PM = 1230.
- Exception: 12:XX AM becomes 00:XX. 12:30 AM = 0030.
- 0000–1159: same, add AM (0000 = 12:00 AM)
- 1200–2359: subtract 12, add PM (1200 = 12:00 PM, 1545 → 15-12=3 → 3:45 PM)
