Knowing your exact sign (especially if you're born near a cusp) is easy to look up, but having a complete reference in one place is even better.

Each Sign at a Glance
Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19) — The initiator. Direct, competitive, and genuinely excited by new beginnings. Aries tends to leap before looking, which is sometimes a feature. Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20) — The builder. Patient, pleasure-loving, and extraordinarily stubborn. Once a Taurus commits to something, they see it through. Gemini (May 21 – Jun 20) — The communicator. Quick-witted, curious, and perpetually interested in everything at once. The "two personalities" reputation is a bit unfair — they just have a lot going on. Cancer (Jun 21 – Jul 22) — The nurturer. Deeply empathetic, protective of those they love, and very attuned to emotional undercurrents in a room. Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 22) — The performer. Warm, generous, and yes, they do enjoy being noticed. But Leo's generosity is real — they give as dramatically as they receive attention. Virgo (Aug 23 – Sep 22) — The analyst. Detail-oriented, practical, and genuinely helpful. The perfectionism reputation is real, but it usually comes from caring deeply. Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22) — The diplomat. Harmony-seeking, fair-minded, and sometimes so determined to weigh all options that decisions take a while. Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21) — The investigator. Intense, perceptive, and loyal to a degree that can surprise people. Scorpios don't forget much. Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21) — The explorer. Optimistic, direct, and always planning the next adventure — literal or intellectual. Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19) — The strategist. Ambitious, disciplined, and patient in a way most signs struggle with. They're playing a long game. Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18) — The visionary. Independent, forward-thinking, and genuinely interested in humanity as a concept — sometimes more than individual humans. Pisces (Feb 19 – Mar 20) — The dreamer. Imaginative, empathetic, and deeply attuned to the emotional and spiritual. Pisces absorbs the feelings around them like a sponge. What About Cusps?
Cusp dates (the days around when one sign transitions to another) depend on the exact year and time of day you were born, because the Sun moves into a new sign at a specific moment — not midnight. If your birthday falls within a day or two of a sign boundary, use our calculator with your birth year to get the precise answer.
What is a rising sign and is it different from my sun sign?
Your sun sign (what most people mean by "my sign") is determined by where the Sun was when you were born. Your rising sign (ascendant) is determined by what zodiac sign was on the eastern horizon at your birth time and location. They're often different and together with your moon sign form the "big three" in birth chart reading.
Are cusp people really a mix of two signs?
Astrologers generally say no — you're fully one sign or the other based on the exact moment the Sun moved. But if you're born right on the cusp and feel resonance with both descriptions, you might have significant placements in the neighboring sign elsewhere in your chart.
Why do some sources list slightly different date ranges?
The Sun enters each sign at a precise moment that shifts slightly year to year. The dates in the table above are the typical ranges but can vary by a day in either direction depending on the year.
